Pet & Equine Photography in Killarney, Kerry

There is something quietly powerful about photographing animals in a way that feels honest and timeless. They don’t pose or perform — they simply exist as they are. This natural presence is what makes fine art pet photography and equine photography in Killarney and across County Kerry so unique.

Pets are never “just animals”. They are companions, part of the family, and often the most loyal presence in our everyday lives.

My approach to pet and horse photography in Kerry is calm, patient, and intentionally unhurried. Each session is led by your animal’s personality, allowing space for them to settle naturally so their true character can be captured without pressure or forced behaviour.

Whether it is the quiet strength of a horse, the playful energy of a dog, or the gentle nature of an older companion, the focus is always on expression, connection, and detail. The result is a set of fine art images that feel natural, emotional, and timeless.

Pet and equine photography is ideal for:

• Fine art portraits of dogs, horses, and family pets
• Capturing personality, expression, and individual character
• Commemorating life stages, from young animals to senior companions
• Breeders seeking natural, high-quality animal portraits

These sessions are also well-suited to breeders and equestrian owners who value authentic, refined imagery that reflects their animals’ temperament and presence in a professional yet natural way.

Because they are never just pets… and the bond you share deserves to be preserved as fine art, not just photographs.

We walk beside them for a moment in time, just a small chapter in our lives… but to them, we are the whole story,
every page, every line.

Pet & Equine Session

What to expect

My pet and equine photography sessions are relaxed, natural, and completely animal-led. The focus is on capturing real connection, personality, and those quiet in-between moments that feel honest and timeless.

Sessions take place in a familiar outdoor location such as your home, yard, stable, or nearby field. This helps your pet or horse feel calm and comfortable, which always leads to more natural images.

There is no pressure for perfect behaviour. I work gently and patiently, allowing time for your animal to settle and simply be themselves. Some of the best images come from unplanned moments and natural interaction.

You don’t need to prepare much. A lead, halter, or favourite treat is usually enough. We can keep things simple and adjust as we go.

1 – 2 weeks after your sessions, you will receive a private online gallery to view and select your images. All of the best photographs are professionally edited in a natural, timeless style.

These sessions are about keeping things easy, relaxed, and real. Just you, your animal, and the connection you share.

How to Book

Get in touch and share a little about what you’d love from your session. If it feels like the right fit, we’ll choose a suitable date and get everything booked in for you.

We’ll meet at your chosen location or in the comfort of your home. The session is easy-going and natural, with gentle guidance from me while I capture genuine moments as they happen. Sessions usually last from 30 minutes, and newborn sessions last 1.5 hours.

After your session, I carefully edit your best images. Editing takes about 1-2 weeks. Then I will upload to a private online gallery for you to view.

You’ll receive your edited online gallery, where you can view the best images from your session. Depending on the collection you choose, you’ll be able to download your included images, with the option to purchase additional digital files or printed products if you’d like to.

Price Guide

My pet and equine photography is simple, natural, and focused on your animal exactly as they are.

Whether it’s a dog, horse, or another beloved animal, each session is led entirely by their comfort and energy. I take my time so they can settle, allowing their true character to come through naturally.

To secure your session date, a €150 session fee is required. This covers your 30-minute session, planning, and the time and care that goes into creating a personalised experience for your family. For locations more than 50 km from Killarney town, a small travel fee of €1 per km applies.

After your session, I personally curate and refine a private online gallery, selecting only the strongest images that reflect genuine connection, expression, and story. Each image is carefully edited in my signature style and presented with intention.

Your gallery is released once the chosen collection has been secured. The session fee reserves your date and time, and your collection includes the images you decide to keep.

You simply choose your favourites and download your high-resolution images.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a pet or equine photography session last?

Sessions are usually around 30 minutes. This keeps things relaxed and works better for animals, especially pets who can get tired or bored quickly. It gives us enough time to capture natural moments without pushing them too far. Additional time can be added.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions take place outdoors in Killarney or the surrounding areas. I usually recommend a familiar location where your pet or horse feels comfortable, as this helps them relax and behave more naturally.

What if my pet won’t sit still or listen?

That’s completely fine. Most animals don’t “pose” in the way people expect, and they don’t need to. I work with their natural behaviour and movement, so there’s no pressure for perfect obedience at all.

Can I be in the photos with my pet or horse?

Yes, absolutely. In fact, some of the most meaningful images come from the connection between you and your animal. We can include a mix of individual portraits and interaction shots.
